SWC’s neXus platform provides real-time safety and security management across schools and healthcare campuses. While powerful under the hood, its interface was crowded, hard to navigate, and slowed down response times.
I partnered with SWC’s internal team to rework the platform’s UX from the ground up. We streamlined the dashboard, redesigned the 3D map interface, and clarified action workflows for things like lockdowns, duress alerts, and equipment faults.
Through user interviews, ride-alongs, and multiple rounds of prototyping and testing, we were able to reorganize the system to surface the right information at the right time. I restructured the navigation, and introduced a more intuitive map interaction model, all while ensuring compliance with safety standards like Alyssa’s Law.
The result: a faster, more intuitive experience.
